Are You Ready?

Scoffers have arisen who have cast uncertainty in the minds of many concerning the second coming of Jesus Christ. It is not overly surprising for the apostle Peter said in 2 Peter3:3,4 that such would be the condition of the minds of many just prior to Christ's return. "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers ,walking after their own lust, and saying, where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. "James encourages believers everywhere with these words: Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Grudge not one against another, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. (James 5:8, 9)

We, however want to assure as well as admonish you that Jesus will come again and sooner than most people think. In John 14:1-3 we read his words: "Let not your hearts be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." His seeming delay is only so that you could prepare to meet him. "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)

Our major concern should not be when he is coming but rather will I be ready when he comes?

He came into this world and gave himself as a sacrifice on the cross of Calvary for your sins and rose again for your justification. "Who was delivered for our offences, and rose again for our justification. "(Romans 4:25). Redemption has been provided. Have you accepted his offer? If, not, it is not too late, for he is merciful and still reaches out to you in love.

Please do not spurn his offer. Sadly, all who do will have to answer for their sins and will be eternally separated from him in a place of torment. We who have accepted him presently enjoy his presence and blessings and will share in his glory throughout eternity. He that hath the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36) If we confess our sins ,he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.(l John 1:9)

Upon your repentance, he will forgive you of all your sin, wash you in the blood and you will be ready to meet him. Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and diverse miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost according to his own will?(Hebrews 2:1-4)
